Lisa Stewart Hughes

Board Member & Mentor

Telemundo / NBC Universal

Lisa Stewart Hughes has been involved with the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program (WOT) since 2007. Struck by the passion and dedication of the WOT founders and mentors she met upon moving to South Florida from New York, she became involved with the program in an effort reach out to the disadvantaged and minority girls of her new community.

Lisa currently serves in the role of Vice President of Corporate Compliance for NBC Universal. Prior to joining NBC Universal she worked as a civil litigator at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York and at Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C. She graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and received her law degree from Harvard Law School, where she was a publishing member of the Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Law Review and an editor of the BlackLetter Law Journal. She is a member of the New York Bar and the Florida and National Bar Associations, as well as the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association . She is an active member of, the Association of Yale Alumni , serving on the Alumni Schools Committee, and also serves as Liaison Leader for the South Florida chapter of the Black Ivy Alumni League.

Lisa enjoys writing, yoga, travel and hot-air ballooning, and spends as much time as she can keeping up with her eight-year-old chess champion, Stewart.
