As a user, your profile must include your first name, last name, and connection to WOT. You may also provide additional information about yourself including: pictures, resume, story about WOT, current school, occupation, employment status, etc. We may occasionally use your name and email address and/or cell phone number for text messages (if you have authorized that notification method) to send you notifications from the Website and WOT. Your first name and connection to WOT will automatically be available in search results on and may be made available to third party search engines. You can select the privacy of the other information you provide. We may also send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the Website.

Use of Cookies

In order to improve our Service and the Website and provide more convenient, relevant experiences to our users, we may use “cookies”, “web beacons”, and similar devices to track your activities. A cookie is small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your identification card and enables us to record your passwords, profile and  references. A web beacon is a small transparent “GIF” image that is embedded in an HTML page or email used to track when the page or email has been viewed. A similar device may be used by which a product, service or functionality may send data to a server when a set of user-initiated events occur (such as after clicking a button on the Website or in an email). This device is similar to a cookie in that it tracks your visit and the data can only be read by the server that receives the data. It is different than a cookie in that it is not browser-based, may not function as an identification card and does not store any data on your computer. While WOT uses cookies and similar devices to track your use of the Website, such as the number of downloads, pages visited and how many users we receive daily, and while our web servers automatically log the IP/Internet address of your computer, we do not generally use this information to identify you personally. However, if you expressly provide consent for the Website to remember you when you log into your account, that unique identifier will be stored on a cookie on your computer and that unique identifier will be linked to your information. As a result, your navigation path around the Website and the Service will be tracked by WOT for the purposes intended herein. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies and similar devices. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or similar device, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it, though this may preclude you from using the Website. To find out more about cookies, including how to see which cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

Tracking/Do Not Track

When you visit a website (such as the WOT Website), your browser automatically shares certain information with that website, such as your IP address and other device information. Some of this information may also be sent to third-party content providers (for example: advertisers, website analytic companies, etc.) that provide content on the website. Such sharing may allow the website and/or content providers to track you over time and across multiple websites. Today, many browsers offer Do Not Track plugins that allow you to express a preference that you not be tracked, and that tell websites that you visit, by sending an electronic beacon, this preference. At this time, WOT’s Website does not respond to Do Not Track beacons sent by browser plugins.

Sharing Information With Third Parties and Partners

We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you during registration and  information about your transactions with us. Non-public, personally identifiable information about you may be disclosed without your consent to our service providers for the purpose of performing services on the Website. Specifically, we may use service providers and third parties to facilitate our business and Website, such as to host the service at a co-location facility for servers, to send out email updates about WOT, to remove repetitive information from our user lists, to offer an online job application process, or to provide search results or links (including sponsored links). In connection with these business services and operations, our service providers may have access to your non-public personal information for use for a limited time in connection with these specific business activities. Where we utilize third parties for the processing of any personal information, we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to the WOT-specified purposes. We restrict access to non-public personal information to employees on a “need to know” basis only. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your non-public personal information. We may provide aggregate, non-personally identifiable data about the usage of our services to third parties or partner companies that we have joint marketing agreements with for such purposes as we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate. These arrangements give you the opportunity to receive additional products or services from us or third parties. However, no non-public personal information about you will be intentionally shared, disclosed or sold to any third party not affiliated with us.

We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the WOT service or using the WOT name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

WOT Communications

We will communicate with you through e-mail and notices posted on this Website as well as through text messages, if you agree to receive text message notifications (note that text messaging and data rates and charges may apply). Such communications will relate to the Website, your account, and/or WOT.

Accessing and Changing Your Account Information

You can review the personal information you provide to us and make any desired changes to the information, or to the privacy settings for your WOT account, at any time by logging into your account on the WOT Website and editing the information on your Profile page, or by writing us at: Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program, Inc., 8400 NW 36 Street, #450, Doral, FL 33166, Attn: Betty George or by calling us directly at (305) 371-3331, or by emailing us. Please include your name, address, and/or email address when you contact us.

Opting-out

Even after you have consented to our collection and use of your personal information, you may opt-out of having your personal data collected or used by us by contacting us via one of the methods described above. Doing so, however, may make it unable for you to utilize the Website and may result in us closing your account. If you close your WOT account, we will remove your name and other personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable data. We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. All changes and retained data will continue to be subject to the terms of the WOT Privacy Policy in effect at such time.

Third Party Advertising

Advertisements that appear on WOT are sometimes delivered (or “served”) directly to users by third party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and “web beacons” (also known as “1×1 gifs”) to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. We do not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on WOT unless you choose to share it with them. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by WOT and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.

This Website may contain links to other Websites that are not owned or controlled by WOT. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other Websites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Website you should read the privacy statements of each and every other website that collects personally identifiable information. This Private Policy applies only to information collected by this Website.
