Marisa Toccin is the Gala & Philanthropic Chair and a board member of the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program. She has chaired the organization’s annual gala since its inception, raising more than four million dollars for college scholarships and mentoring activities. Marisa is particularly proud of her contributions to growing and supporting this worthy cause as it has just launched a national expansion to help more at-risk girls around the country. In addition to her extensive involvement with Women of Tomorrow, Marisa supports many other charitable initiatives and is a Founder at the University of Miami and a Spectrum Award recipient for the American Red Cross. She received the “Miracle Maker” award from Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Valor Award by the American Diabetes Association. She is a Founder at Mount Sinai and served as an honorary chairman for the Diabetes Research Institute’s Love and Hope ball. Marisa was honored as a “Woman of Substance and Style” by The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis and named a “Leader of the Future” by the Weizmann Institute of Science. She was also recognized by the American Cancer Society as part of the “Inner Circle of Twelve” and “Ten Best Dressed.” Marisa is also a member of both the Banyan & Tiffany Societies for Project Newborn as well as a founder for the Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon.
Marisa is actively involved with her alma matter, the University of Pennsylvania, as a member of the school’s prestigious Trustees’ Council for Penn Women. Marisa is the university’s Gift Chair and received the Volunteer of the Year award for her fundraising work in South Florida. Marisa is the co-president of LineaLuxe.com, a website offering a variety of high-end home and personal accessories. Prior to this venture, Marisa spent nearly ten years as an Emmy Award winning television news producer on both a national and local level. Her journey in the news industry took her to a variety of stations and shows including, CBS4 andNBC6 in Miami, WABC and Inside Edition in New York, and WPVI in Philadelphia.
