Lauren Kahn is a licensed social worker and marriage and family therapist.  A fourth generation
Philadelphian, Lauren attended The Baldwin School and The University of Pennsylvania.  She
holds a Masters degree from Boston University School of Social Work, is a graduate of the
Philadelphia Marriage and Family Therapy Training Center and is a founding member of Mt Airy
Psychotherapy and Wellness which provides holistic heath services to a diverse population of
individuals, couples and families.

Lauren has many years of experience counseling, guiding and mentoring teens.  She travelled
the world as a leader for youth travel and community service programs.  Countries included
France, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and China.  Lauren also holds a certificate in
Outdoor Leadership and has developed and led adventure based counseling programs for
families, school groups and teens. Lauren worked as a full time mother for 10 years during
which her volunteer activities included providing support and education to young women and
parents through Women Against Abuse, Nursing Mothers Advisory Council, Hall-Mercer Child
Parent Center, Parents, Inc. and Child Protective Services.
Lauren is an active member of Impact 100 Philadelphia, a women’s philanthropy organization
that has to date given over $1,000,000 in grants to emerging non-profit organizations in the
Greater Philadelphia area.   She resides in Mt. Airy with her husband Mark and has two teenage
children.  She enjoys hiking in Wissahickon Park with her dogs, tennis, music and skiing.
