Karie Ross graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Journalism and for the next 15 years experienced an illustrious career in her field: from News Anchor in Oklahoma City, OK to Sports Anchor in Columbus, OH, where she won the Associated Press Award for three years in a row. That was followed by Sports Anchor for ESPN and a College Football Gameday Reporter. Karie then moved on to stints as a Sports Anchor in Washington, DC and Miami, FL, where she covered MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL. In Florida she also hosted the Miami Dolphins Monday Night Magazine.
In 1981, Karie won the prestigious title of National Maid of Cotton and traveled all over the United States, Europe, and Asia as Goodwill Ambassador. Karie has been on the National Recruitment Team for Chi Omega Sorority and was the Host for their National Instructional Video.
As an original board member for Jack’s Place for Autism, Karie has chaired all 6 of the charity’s fundraisers which earned more than a million dollars. Karie is also the Spokesperson and founder of “Pennies For Paws’, a campaign to save endangered wild tigers, partnered with the Detroit Tigers. She recently won “Dancing with the Stars”, an event benefitting the Detroit Historical Society.
Karie lives in Bloomfield Hills, MI with her husband, Dave Dombrowski, the President and GM of the Detroit Tigers and their two children: Darbi, 13, and Landon, 11.
