Judith Trepeck

Judith Trepeck is a dedicated professional.  A consultant and Certified Public Accountant, her career spans more than three decades of service to businesses and organizations locally, nationally and on international levels.  Ms. Trepeck brings this wealth of expertise to every role she undertakes.

Ms. Trepeck previously served as a Judge at the Michigan Tax Tribunal, a multidisciplinary Michigan court located in Lansing, Michigan.  She held the only CPA member seat in the seven Judge Tribunal.  The Court has jurisdiction over property, single business, sales, use, withholding, motor fuel and excise taxes.  As a Judge, Ms. Trepeck conducted hearings and rendered written decisions based upon evidence properly submitted by the parties. Decisions rendered by the Tribunal are final and appealed to the Michigan Court of Appeals.  She also supervises hearing officers and students assigned to the Tribunal.

Former Chief Operating Officer of the Global Credential Steering Committee for the International Institute of Strategic Business Professionals in New York, Judith Trepeck has earned an international reputation for her integrity and excellence in business practice.  She has also owned and operated a successful consulting practice devoted to the management of law firms, accounting firms, family-owned businesses and associations.

Ms. Trepeck served as the Chief Financial Officer of JustUs®, a company whose programs evaluate and report the scope and urgency of employee complaints regarding fraud, ethics and accounting and employee relations issues (such as sexual/racial harassment or discrimination).  As an award-winning business owner, Trepeck understands the varied situations and factors that come together in every workplace.  “Often an employee may witness or experience something at work that they know to be illegal, or which violates their rights, but they feel they have nowhere to turn for assistance.  JustUs® is an objective third party, leading everyone to a workable solution.”

Judith Trepeck is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the Association of Accounting Administration (AAA), and the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).  She also participates as a member of the Family Business Council, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the International Women’s Forum (IWF), and Michigan Women in Tax (MWTA).  Ms. Trepeck devotes considerable time to Temple Israel, the Michigan Women’s Forum, and Hospice of Michigan.  Ms. Trepeck is currently Chair of the Southeastern Michigan Board of Hospice of Michigan (HOM).

A sought-after speaker, Ms. Trepeck has appeared before numerous groups and associations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland, the Canadian Bar Association, the Michigan Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and the Michigan Assessors Association.   She has also written articles for publications including Accounting Today, Journal of Accountancy, Accounting for Law Firms and the Detroit Legal News.

Judith Trepeck’s significant contribution to business has been recognized and awarded by her peers with the 2002 FFI Interdisciplinary Award denoting outstanding achievement in the advancement of interdisciplinary services to families; the MACPA Chair’s Service Awards for 2001 and 2007, for her service to the advancement of the accounting profession by the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants; and Wonder Woman of the Year – Professional Category, recognizing her career for its significant contribution to the careers and personal advancement of women.  She serves on several Boards including Hospice of Michigan and Baker College-School of Paralegal Studies.
