Together We Can Raise High School Graduation

Greater-Philadelphia

With one of the lowest graduation rates in the nation, Philadelphia has a crisis in which only 64% of its students graduate high school on time.  This leads to a cycle of poverty that can last generations.  The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program launched in Greater Philadelphia in 2014.  Our focus is to help at-risk girls graduate high school and go on to higher education.  Our results are stellar, with a national graduation rate of 95%.  Since 1997, we have awarded over $4 million in scholarships to at-risk girls.  In our inaugural year, we will reach 140 at-risk girls in 7 area high schools,  through a network of 39 highly accomplished professional women from the Philadelphia community.   But there is more that we can do with your assistance.  As a member of the Committee of 1000, your support directly impacts Greater Philadelphia’s education crisis.

The Power of Collaboration

With one of the lowest graduation rates in the nation, Detroit has a crisis in which only 65% of its students graduate high school on time.  This leads to a cycle of poverty that can last generations.  The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program launched in Metro Detroit in 2011.  Our focus is to help at-risk girls graduate high school and go on to higher education.  Since 2011, we have contributed over $1 million of outside funds to Detroit.  We have achieved an unprecedented 97% graduation rate and awarded $352,500 in scholarships in our first graduating class of 2014.  This year, we will reach 1,100 at-risk girls in 55 area high schools with a network of 150 highly accomplished professional women.   But there is more that we can do with your assistance.  As a member of the Committee of 1000, your support directly impacts Detroit’s education crisis.
