The Annual Graduation Luncheon was held April 30, 2009 at Jungle Island honoring 2009 graduating seniors and scholarship recipients. This year, Women of Tomorrow awarded 142 scholarships valued at $459,419 bringing our cumulative scholarships awards total to well over 2.3 million dollars!
The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program was excited to welcome new and existing Mentors to our Annual Kick-Off events in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties that aimed to jump start the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year and allowed existing and new Women of Tomorrow Mentors to socialize with other highly successful professional women while sharing mentoring session ideas and experiences.
The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program expressed our gratitude for another year of dedication from our mentors and supporters with a Thank You luncheon hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour and MasterCard on September 23, 2009. The luncheon also featured a fashion presentation of fall’s most mesmerizing trends. Women of Tomorrow would like to thank Carolina Pineda, April Wilkins and Deborah Slack for their assistance in coordinating this event.
In the spirit of giving and sharing during the holiday season, the Women of Tomorrow Mentees invited 10 members of 5000 Role Models, an African American male mentoring group, to participate in a very exciting culinary experience on December 15, 2009 at Carol City High school. The holiday culinary experience was divided into 2 sessions - 1) a dining etiquette lesson led by Kiki Bertani, an alum of the Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders, and 2) a culinary lesson led by Exec Sous Chef, Andy Saint-Ange, of Joe's Stone Crab and assistant, Emanuel Richmond.
Women of Tomorrow would like to personally thank JoAnn Bass, owner of Joe's Stone Crab and the Executive Chef Andre Bienvenue of Joe's Stone Crab, for your generosity in helping to create such a magical culinary experience while leaving a long lasting impression on the Carol City High School students. In addition, we would like to thank our visiting guests, Kiki Bertani and Andy Saint-Ange for giving of their time, talents, and treasures during the holiday season and helping to make the event a success. Lastly, thanks to Mentor Shanae Hill, School Coordinator Angie Clark and Carol City administration for their full support and contributions to make this event a success.
The WOT Holiday Party was held on December 10th, 2009 at Telemundo Network Studios in Hialeah. A special thanks to Publix, Wal-Mart and The Florida Marlins Community Foundation for sponsoring the event once again this year.
